Data collected: We collect the personal data you provide when registering (name, email address) and data generated through your use of the Service (trip details, meal plans, food preferences, expense records).

Purpose of processing: Provision and improvement of the Service, sending transactional emails (reminders, login links), and billing management.

Legal basis: Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) for core Service features; legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) for service improvement; consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) for optional communications.

Data retention: Your data is retained for the duration of your account and for up to 3 years after deletion, as required for legal obligations.

Data recipients: Your data may be shared with our sub-processors: Stripe (payment processing), DigitalOcean (hosting), email delivery services, and OpenAI (AI meal suggestions and ingredient generation — only trip planning data such as meal types, dietary restrictions, and participant count; no names or financial data are transmitted). These processors are bound by data processing agreements.

5. Cookies

Foodcrew uses strictly necessary cookies to maintain your session and remember your language preference. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. No cookie banner is required for strictly necessary cookies under the CNIL guidelines.

The cookies we set:

Session cookie (XSRF-TOKEN, foodcrew_session): Required for authentication and security. Deleted when you close your browser or log out.
Language cookie (foodcrew_locale): Stores your language preference (EN/FR). Expires after 1 year.
